Boldly Go…
You may have noticed that I do quite a bit of reading. Over the years, I’ve read volumes on business management and leadership. The challenge, of course, is remembering everything I’ve read. Here is a concept I do remember --
Great leaders believe in themselves and their cause, and they are bold in their pursuit of it.
History is filled with leaders who believed and pursued their cause—Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, Rosa Parks to name a few.
During your development as a leader, you’ve probably been taught how to write a mission statement, set goals, and coach your team to achieve success. But what sets you apart from other leaders in your organization? It’s the difference between merely asking for something and being single-minded in the pursuit of obtaining that thing.
Goethe wrote, “Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back. The moment one definitely commits oneself all sorts of things occur to help that which would not have occurred otherwise. A whole stream of events will rise in one’s favor which no person could have dreamed would have come their way.”
Let me ask you:
How committed are you to your goals? Your vision? Your team? Boldness comes from the power of a made-up mind.
Until next time...live like you mean it!
Marjorie
