Missed Opportunities

Sep_2007_Website_Offer.pdf

I would like to think that I’m always ‘in the moment’ when it comes to business. I’d like to think that and I would be wrong.

Reflecting back on the past week, I missed at least 6 opportunities to talk about the services I provide when asked about them directly. Here are the times I recall:

* At an 80th birthday party for a dear friend. 3 folks sat down with me and wanted to find out exactly what I do. I gave a fluffy answer.
* At the chiropractor’s office, I was asked for a quick team-building tip. I gave a very easy one without exploring further.
* While making a deposit the bank teller asked, “What does Team Fusion do?” I gave the ‘laundry list’ speaking very quickly.
* A neighbor called wanting an ice-breaker activity for a new book club she is forming. She now has the activity and I still don’t know anything about the members of the book club.

If you cannot speak about your products or services at any moment, then how many opportunities are you missing to help customers have a better life?

If your business is not growing, then I challenge you to pull your team together and brainstorm your own ‘Missed Opportunities’ list—and go fix it.  (Instructions on how to correctly conduct a brainstorming session above.)

As a leader, it can only improve your bottom line. As a team, it can only strengthen their commitment to meeting goals.

Until next time...live like you mean it!
